Hi Matt and Max, I agree about the problems w " handing over a patient mid treatment ".

I developed an answer to this, after listening to Dr Omer Reed DDS, a luminary Dentist in the USA, who worked as a competent dentist into his 80s.

It is NOT a Treatment Plan. It is not driven by what you, the Dentist think should happen.

It is THE PATIENT's Health Care Plan. It involves a co-discovery agreement about

1, Therapy and

2, Health Maintenance.

It is a plan OWNED ( in all its connotations ) by the Patient. After developing the Plan with the Patient, as something that THEY want to do, and helping them see how they could afford it, I step back and say " Now, even if I die tomorrow, you will still be ok, because you know what you need to do to get the outcome that you want. Just find a really good dentist, who can do it for you ". That statement brings a horde of hungry patients to your door. But you MUST be ethical and desire only the Patients interest. Thats why we are called " Health Professionals ".
