This week I thought I would take the opportunity pause and reflect on my activity here over the past 6 months. I wrote my first post back on 20 January this year, having spent the summer pondering ways to better communicate some of the issues that I see as relevant both in the dental profession and more broadly. My passion is dental public health, and working to improve oral health across the community. Equity and justice are strong guiding principles. But I’m also heavily invested in mental health and wellbeing, and the future of the dental profession.
Since kicking this blog off, I have written 26 posts, with more than 4000 reader views - which doesn’t seem much compared with those who have readerships in the millions. But you have to start somewhere, and I’m self-aware enough to know that this is a pretty niche area. Most pleasing for me though is the random messages I get from readers when something that I have written resonates with them.
With that in mind, I decided to look back at my top 10 posts this years. If you haven’t read them, then you don’t know what you’re missing! If you have, and you think that the content was valuable - can I ask that you share it with five of your friends to help me build my audience.
And one final request - if you have suggestions for future topics, drop me a line.
